Youth volunteering in England has received a boost as vInspired and RunAClub team up to connect young volunteers with grassroots clubs and groups..
The collaboration will give young people access to more local volunteering opportunities and build the capacity of local community organisations with a social purpose.
Jessica Taplin, CEO of vInspired, said: “As the UK’s leading youth volunteering charity, vInspired has been connecting young people with great causes for over a decade. Some 74% of young people are ready to volunteer. This new partnership means we can offer them even more opportunities in their communities - and clubs and groups can benefit from their support.”
Sally Higham, CEO at RunAClub, said: “RunAClub are delighted to support vInspired in this new initiative and enable smaller community groups to find young volunteers by working through ‘VERIFY’, a simple accreditation process. RunAClub already supports thousands of club staff and volunteers through a digital platform helping manage quality assured governance, safeguarding, communications and ethical data collection and reporting – helping clubs meet their impact and data reporting needs. RunAClub has supported over 45,000 club or group sessions and over 400,000 attendances to date.”
RunAClub's VERIFY, a quality assured certification for voluntary groups and organisations, verifies their suitability to work with young volunteers. The voluntary groups and organisations can now join hundreds of charities already sharing their volunteering roles with a network of committed young people through vInspired.
vInspired is a leading youth charity, which helps young people and communities to thrive through volunteering. Last year alone, the charity helped over 31,400 young people to volunteer – collectively giving over 460,600 hours to help causes they care about.
Through vInspired, thousands of people aged 14-30 will receive the new Inspired Card, which celebrates the potential of young volunteers. Part of the European Youth Card Association and supported by the Mayor of London, it gives young people access to inspirational experiences in work, education, travel, culture, sport and adventure.
Young people can find local volunteering roles and apply for the Inspired Card online at VINSPIRED.COM, whilst groups and organisations can register at RUNACLUB.COM using promotional code VI2018.
