Pype Hayes Park - official opening of new tennis courts

On 18th June, Midlands LTA at Pype Hayes Park.

The four tennis courts at one of Birmingham’s largest parks have recently been resurfaced following LTA investment & are officially being opened on Sunday 18th June. A female tennis player from the prestigious Aegon Classic tournament at Edgbaston Priory will be coming over to support the event.

The Tennis For Free session for all ages will be taking place between 10am -12 noon with a free min tennis racket giveaway for children. As part of the event, Pype Hayes park head coach Ryan Preston will be taking a team into several primary schools during the week to deliver fun taster sessions to local children

LTA Regional Tennis Participation Manager Keely Fowler states ‘as part of our mission to get more people playing tennis more often, we recognise the appetite for tennis in Birmingham and have invested into the Pype Hayes Park facility .We are launching a new low cost coaching programme to suit all ages and abilities with a free online court booking system for members of the community to book at a time to suit them.’

£90k investment from the LTA. The Tennis For Free session regularly see 40-50 people attend every Sunday morning whatever the weather!
