Children’s Hospice Naomi House & Jacksplace thank their Hidden Heroes.

The care and dedication provided by staff and volunteers at the Hampshire-based hospice charity, Naomi House & Jacksplace is being recognised by a unique charity called Room to Reward.

Room to Reward is the first charity initiative of its kind, hotels donate their unsold rooms, via the scheme, providing nominated ‘Hidden Heroes’ a complimentary two-night break, whilst giving charities the means to motivate, recompense and contribute to the wellbeing of their invaluable volunteers and staff.

The first recipient of a hidden hero break at Naomi House and Jacksplace is long standing care staff member and Governance Lead Nurse, Jackie Collins, who was nominated by the hospice for the huge levels of support she gives those she works with, whilst continuously striving to deliver high standards in everything she does.

Lucy Butcher, Volunteer Services Manager at Naomi House and Jacksplace said:

“It is incredibly helpful to charities to be able to give such a significant reward to staff & volunteers when there are such limited funds. The scheme provides us with a fantastic way of thanking those who give so much to the work we do."

Adam Terpening, Charity Director of Room to Reward commented:

“The power of a thank you is untold. Our scheme is a simple one but the impact it has on the charity sector is significant, we feel honoured to be able to recognise those who make such a difference to the lives of others.”

Naomi House and Jacksplace provide expert hospice care to more than 340 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.
