Survivors Manchester announces new board member
Survivors Manchester, a Greater Manchester charity that provides support to male survivors of unwanted sexual experiences, is pleased to announce a new member to its board – Christos Tsaprounis.
Christos, head of people and culture at Auto Trader UK, has had a longstanding relationship with the charity. He was the first person to raise money for Survivors Manchester with the funds raised paying for a laptop to build the first website and pay-as-you-go mobile that enabled the charity’s first helpline to be launched.
Christos brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience within the HR sector and will help evolve the charity’s culture with a focus on its people, as well reviewing and developing its ongoing policies and procedures.
Christos Tsaprounis, board member and trustee of Survivors Manchester said: “Survivors Manchester is a charity so close to my heart and when the opportunity to be involved as a Trustee came about it was an easy decision to accept, while appreciating the privilege and the incredible responsibility that the role comes with.”
This announcement comes at an exciting time for Survivors Manchester as it enters its 10th year as a charity.
Christos added: “I’m excited to join now as we are about to celebrate 10 years and having just opened the doors to our new premises; a really inclusive space where the team will be able to offer better services and make a real difference to people’s lives, there’s a real sense of excitement, achievement and growth.
Duncan Craig, chief executive officer at Survivors Manchester said: “Welcoming Christos to our board at the start of a 10th year is a massive moment for both the charity and me personally. Christos was one of the first people I ever spoke to about the idea of setting the charity up and he helped fund and set up our helpline and website. He has continued to support me and Survivors Manchester ever since so to have him recognised as an official board member and trustee is just the perfect way to start our 10th year.”
