Room to Reward (www.roomtoreward.org) Unique volunteer-recognition scheme uses donation of exclusive Somerset venue for a special event for the Armed Forces charity.
Room to Reward – a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to give back to those who do so much for others – are delighted to announce a joint event with SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, to celebrate their inspirational volunteers..
The special event will take place on Friday 28th September at Clevedon Hall, an exclusive wedding and events venue in North Somerset, donated to Room to Reward for the night by Managing Director, James Matthews.
A number of inspirational volunteers from SSAFA will be invited to an evening drinks reception, followed by a three course meal and overnight stay at the luxury venue in recognition of their dedication to the charity.
Lorna Muffett, Volunteer Support Manager at SSAFA, said: “At SSAFA, we couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. They are at the heart of our work with the Armed Forces family. From supporting veterans and their families, combating loneliness and isolation to fundraising and essential admin jobs, they are a vital part of helping those who gave everything for our country.
“To be able to celebrate some of our inspirational volunteers with such a special event is amazing. Thank you to Clevedon Hall and Room to Reward.”
The evening has been made possible thanks to Clevedon Hall’s support of Room to Reward, as Adam Terpening, the charity’s Director, explains:
“When James first made the offer, I was speechless. Room to Reward works on the donation of unsold rooms. To donate an entire venue is simply amazing.
“We are hugely grateful to James and the team at Clevedon Hall. I’m delighted that we are able to put this wonderful donation to such great use through the Room to Reward initiative.”
Clevedon Hall, located in Clevedon, North Somerset, is a luxury wedding, events and functions venue. A Jacobean-style manor house set amongst 17 acres picturesque grounds, the property boasts unique bedrooms and stunning dining options.
Mr. Matthews said: “When I first heard about Room to Reward, it was a no-brainer to get involved. Much like an unsold room, there are nights when our venue is not being used. Partnering with Room to Reward enables us to utilise this opportunity in a fantastic way,”
