"I very much look forward to working with Professor Lord Winston, the Board and the team to build the Trust's impact and ensure that it is able to fulfill its mission to deliver world-class medical research into cures for conditions that affect the health of women and babies. I simply cannot think of a more vital project to be part of."

Prof Robert Winston, Chairman of the Genesis Research Trust said:
“We are really delighted to welcome Julia Margo to the GRT family as our new CEO. She has precisely the skills, commitment and enthusiasm we need for this most important."

About Genesis Research Trust:

The most profound of human wishes is to have a happy and healthy family. But for many, this can only ever be a dream, due to the tragedies of stillbirth, infertility, miscarriage, prematurity and gynaecological cancers. The Genesis Research Trust is a charity dedicated to ending these tragedies by funding pioneering medical research and world-class training in the fields of gynaecology, obstetrics and care of the new-born. Under the leadership of its chairman Professor Robert Winston, the trust has maintained an international reputation for discoveries and advancements that have quickly become standardised medical practice in natal units throughout the world. These include cures for uterine cancer, hormonal cures for infertility, cures for some causes of stillbirth and prematurity, and of course pioneering IVF surgical techniques for which our chairman is so well-known. Part of the charity’s mission is to train the very brightest science students; many of our alumni, half of whom are female, have taken up professorships around the world. With only 0.2% of charitable-giving going to reproductive health, the charity sees many challenges ahead. Yet the Genesis Research Trust is more committed than ever to ensuring our future is one in which all babies have the chance to survive and thrive.
